Rippingale News November (Unpublished )

Apoolgies there is no paper copy of the Rippingale News this month

Rippingale WI

It was a bit of a mystery this month as we were due to hear about Lincolnshire Rural Support Netwok and none of us knew what that was, Emma soon enlightened us. Lincolnshire  is a county of farmers, Much of the country's food is farmed here- wheat, oats, sugar beet, flowers and salads and that means a lot of farms. Emma explained that LRSN is a charity to support farmers who are finding it increasingly difficult. The charity can give one-to-one support  wherever it is needed - be that mentally, relationships within the family, public perception or physical health. iI can also help with environmental issues such as hare chasing. We certainly had our eyes open to the problems facing farmers today. Their helpline number is  138 1710 or email at helpline@lrsn.

We finished the meeting with tea and cakes, announcement of the raffle winner, and distribution of birthday cards. We also had time to have a natter, look at the book table and give our contributions to Bourne Food Bank.

The next meeting will be in Rippingale Village Hall on Thursday from 2-4pm when the speaker will beTim Stubbs who will be giving us Reflections of Life in a Humorous Manner. If you would like to join us please call Janet on 07552 699848 or go to our website at radwi@btinternet.com

CHURCH COFFEE MORNING

It really seems that this year we have been able to enjoy our coffee outside. Never mind we always have a good attendance old and new and we are very grateful to Judy and Judith in serving out the Coffee and Cakes this month. Don’t forget about our fresh veg stall with no air miles as everything comes off the local fen that morning so it can’t be a lot fresher than that!

Please come and join us Tuesday 5th November 2024 10.15am (No Fireworks) you will be made most welcome regardless of race, religion and beliefs.

HARVEST FESTIVAL + SUPPER

This was a very enjoyable evening for everybody and we are so grateful to all our helpers who worked so very hard to make it such a successful occasion. We must not forget the attendees who supported us it was such a super atmosphere with our raffle and little table Quiz being so well supported. Truly very many thanks to everybody.

It became apparent that this was Revd Neil’s last service at Rippingale and we all wish him the best of luck in the Future. Revd Neil’s last service in the Group will be at Morton at the end of December.

REMEMBRANCE SERVICE

This will be held Sunday 10th November 2024 10.30am It will start in the Church and then move outside to the War Memorial for 11am. Over the past years our timings have been spot on, fingers crossed we can manage this again. Its more luck than judgement! There will be coffee and biscuits provided after the service which we hope you will be able to stop and enjoy.

FoRC (Friends of Rippingale Church)
